En fait, Cruelles, c'est l'histoire d'une mauvaise blague qui tourne mal où 4 filles finissent pas en tuer une autre par accident et au lieu d'en parler et de dire à quelqu'un qu'elles ont fait une très grosse bêtise, elles préfèrent garder le secret et se font la promesse de ne jamais se trahir.
Si tu veux, le sentiment de culpabilité qui aurait du être au coeur de l'histoire et des préoccupations de l'héroïne passe complètement à la trappe.
I promised myself starting this blog that I would review every book that I read so I had to think a lot about what I would say about this one but "it's shit" : the story is ridiculous, well structured but empty, without any interest but maybe in the end.
Actually, Torn, is the story of a bad joke that ends up with a catastrophe where 4 girls end up killing another one by accident and instead of saying something about it, they decide to keep it a secret and promise each other never to betray one another.
So the guilt feeling that should have been at the centre of this story and the heroine's thoughts is inexistant.

Si tu aurais envie de le lire quand même pour voir, honnêtement, tu vas te faire du mal pour rien. Ce livre est vraiment le moins bon que j'ai lu en 2013.
Si mon opinion en est aussi négative, je pense que c'est surtout que c'est aussi parce que ce livre n'est pas une bonne pub pour la Young Adult. Parce que toute la Young Adult n'est pas bidon comme ça et il y a même des bouquin qui sont très bons mais j'ai parfois l'impression que certains auteurs qui veulent écrire de la littérature adolescente s'imaginent simplement qu'ils peuvent écrire quelque chose de très superficielle sans fond ni rien mais sur un sujet qui "concerne les jeunes", comme le sex et la drogue, et ça passe. Et bien je suis vraiment désolée mais non. Non, ça ne marche pas comme ça : l'adolescence, c'est une période de merde qui n'est facile pour personne et je pense qu'à un moment de ta vie où t'aimerait bien grandir plus vite histoire d'en finir, ça t'arrangerait sûrement et remonterait ton estime personnelle si on n'arrêtait un peu de te prendre pour un imbécile et qu'on te stimulait un peu avec des réflexions plus profonde que "oh mon dieu je m'en veux trop j'ai quand même tué quelqu'un mais pour le moment je vais au ciné avec mon mec donc je vais mettre mes soucis de côté". AH ! MON DIEU ! Ca m'énerve ! Et je m'arrêterai là-dessus j'ai assez perdu mon temps.
If you wanted to read it anyway to make your own opinion about it, please don't, you are going to loose your time. This book really is the worst I've read in 2013.
If my opinion is that negative, I think that it is mainly because this book is not promoting the Young Adult genre wiry well. Because not all Young Adult books are bad like that and even some of them are really good but sometimes, I'm under the impression that some authors that wants to write books for a teenage audience, feel that it is OK to write something that ends up being very superficial, without any real message under but as the topic "directly concerns youngsters", like sex and drugs, that's enough. Well I'm really sorry to say that no, it is not. It doesn't work like that : adolescence is a very shitty time of anyone's life at one point and it's a moment of your life when you'd give everything to grow up faster just to be done with this weird in-between state. That would be really convenient and help you get more confident if adults would stop to treat you like a dumb kid and start stimulating you with deeper reflexions than "oh my God I feel so bad because I killed someone but for now I'm going to the cinema worth my boyfriend so I should just enjoy the moment".
OH CHRIST ! I'm getting really annoyed about all this ! So I'm going to stop talking about this book, I already lost enough time of my life because of it.
